Going to school only to the age of seven, I participated from my childhood in the life of our home : helping to build a
wood floor, making shoes, restoring a bicycle, knowing plants, drawing, painting, sculpture, weaving, masonry, creating jewels.
After high school, I worked as a stonecutter in Gers (South-West France). Then, I lived in the Antilles, in the French Caribbean,
for two years. There I bought and restored a boat.
Tired of living on an island and on boats, I came back to France, studied communication at the university and then, worked as
artistic director in a publicity agency in Zurich, Switzerland. Then I worked for Greepeace.
I came back to France and made my first piece of furniture, because I needed a place to put my things ; and to realize a fantasy,
a vision I had of a wardrobe, with a Gothic arch form and a spirit inside. And only a child like me could open this wardrobe,
open it with fright.
It was my first furniture, the beginning of an adventure lasting twelve years. With fantastic spirit and rigourous thought,
each piece of furniture, like a sculpture, tames my soul.
Educated on the one hand to respect the environment, and on the other, having had a sometimes difficult childhood, my concern
is to sharpen the perception of respect of everybody and everything in this world.

When I make furniture, I think like a sculptor.
At the beginning, I put into my mind all the contraints, necessities, wishes and personality of the person.
Then I let this mixture work in myself and ideas begin to come, grow, and more often, they descend on me.
The process of creation is interesting for me. How does it work ? I’m impressed because the finished project
seems so evident, I didn’t really think about it before. Most of the time, the first drawing contains everything :
elements, values, proportions. In a flash, the drawing asserts itself, I don’t have anything to say.
When it’s like that, I’m sure about the value of the project. If not, soul and strength are missing.

I see that an unsuccessful form wastes energy and makes one tired, but a form well-built centers and recharges one,
sometimes, gives strength.
